Middle School Tips

August19

Parents and Students,

As a new school year begins, remember that there will be many opportunities for meeting new people, exploring new things, and facing new responsibilities.  Switching classes, making friends, and participating in activities are all part of the middle school experience, but don’t forget about the academics.  Don’t be afraid to talk with teachers, the counselor, administrators, and all school staff members if you need help.

Remember these tips for a great start:

  • Get organized–keep your locker and backpack clean; color code your supplies for classes
  • Do your homework–schedule your time wisely; keep track of your assignments
  • Talk to your teachers–ask questions; they are there to help
  • Get involved–extra-curricular activities are here for your to enjoy; meet new people
  • Get good grades–turn in your work on time; ask questions
  • Stay healthy–get enough sleep; eat breakfast before school
  • Communicate at home–keep your family informed
  • Find an adult you trust–talk to them when you have problems
  • Choose your friends wisely–make good decisions
  • Come to school–you can’t learn if you are not at school
